So, I just finished watching this film, produced by one of my idols, Will Packer and Directed my another favorite of mine Tim Story. Ride Along 2 trumped part 1 in the funny. Kevin Hart was at his best and it was literally nonstop laughs!
Technically speaking, the story was interesting and the dialogue was definitely on point. I'm a plot point nerd I was able point them out like clockwork...Inciting Incident 15 minutes in...Lock in...I think you get the hint. I absolutely recommend this film. My favorite comedy this far this year. Great job to the actors of course, but especially to Tim and Will. P.S. Tika Sumpter...wow! Gorgeous...*Spoiler* bikini scene lol

i had the pleasure TODAY, of watching this exhilarating film called "Creed."
I must say now before any other critics do.....This film is the new "Rocky" The acting specifically on the part of seasoned actress Phylicia Rashad, Michael B. Jordan and yes Stallone. I believe that Michael B. Jordan has catapulted himself to another lever with his performance in this film. Now if I might get technical.....the writing was impeccable. I noticed that the Inciting Incident occurred promptly at the 15 minute mark, Act 2 began right at the 40 min. mark and the 3rd Act Twist.....Wow!!! I can't even begin to tell you about it. All in all, in all this film is a 3WG MUST SEE!!!! From beginning to end this film blew me away. BS to all the critics that are touting this film as your typical boxing movie.
It's nothing like any boxing movie I've ever seen. The script coupled with the the way it was directed and the cinematography......whew! Super exhilarating. Once the action began, there was no slowing down all the way through. Thumbs up to Antoine Fuqua, Kurt Sutter and Jake Gyllenhaal. The young daughter is something special as well. Antoine Fuqua is an American film director. His first feature film was the action film The Replacement Killers (1998). He then directed the crime thriller Training Day (2001), for which star Denzel Washington won an Oscar, the action war drama Tears of the Sun (2003), the Arthurian legend film King Arthur (2004), the conspiracy action thriller Shooter (2007), the crime film Brooklyn's Finest(2010), and the action thrillers Olympus Has Fallen (2013) and The Equalizer (2014), which pairs Fuqua with Denzel Washington again. Fuqua was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After going to school for electrical engineering, with the hope of going on to fly jets in the military,Fuqua began his career directing music videos for popular artists like Toni Braxton and Prince, and then went on to become a film director. He is perhaps best known for the award-winning film Training Day. Fuqua was scheduled to direct Prisoners, based on a storybook from Aaron Guzikowski, but left the project. CBS Films has hired Antoine Fuqua to direct a new movie based on a Vince Flynn novel, Consent to Kill. In March 2011, Fuqua signed on to direct a film featuring the romantic love story between Consort Yang Yuhuan and Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang dynasty. As reported in March 2013, he has stated that he's awaiting for the film project to go through the appropriate Chinese government channels before directing the historical epic film, currently known as The Tang Dynasty. He was slated to direct Tupac Shakur's official biopic. The project was postponed to allow Fuqua to direct rapper Eminem's second feature film, Southpaw. However, Eminem put the Southpaw film on hold to focus on music. He was later replaced with Jake Gyllenhaal. Fuqua moved on to Olympus Has Fallen (2013), an action thriller starring Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman. In May 2014 20th Century Fox set Fuqua to direct a drug smuggling thriller film Narco Sub which is scripted by David Guggenheim. He co-created After Dark with Wesley Snipes, which was written by Peter Milligan and illustrated by Jeff Nentrup. Rob Hardy is a film producer, screenwriter, television and film director. With partner Will Packer, he founded the production company Rainforest Films in 1994. Hardy's films credits include The Gospel, Trois, and Trois 2: Pandora's Box. His television credits include ER, Criminal Minds, Arrow, and The Game. Rob Hardy began his career as a high school senior with the camcorder-shot movie G-Man. While pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Florida A&M University, he made the leap to film with the low-budget motion picture Chocolate City. This experience earned him the institution's highest honor, the Bernard Hendricks Student Leadership Award, and helped Hardy and film partner William Packer (Will Packer) launch Rainforest Films. The underground buzz on the project soon led to his controversial film Trois. Hardy not only directed and co-wrote the thriller, he was also instrumental in self-distributing the project to be the fastest Independent African-American film to pass the $1 million mark. In 2003, after directing the critically acclaimed thriller Trois 2: Pandora's Box, he added the role of “Producer” to his credits by collaborating with business partner Will Packer to produce Motives, and later, Trois: The Escort. Hardy then wrote and directed the spiritually-themed drama The Gospel and produced the companion concert film The Gospel Live. Executively producing Mekhi Phifer's directorial film debut Puff, Puff, Pass soon followed. Next, he served as Executive Producer of Stomp The Yard, which held the No. 1 position at the box office for two weekends in January 2007 and was named Best Movie at the 2007 BET Hip Hop Awards.. He went on to work on several other projects, including Stomp The Yard: Homecoming and Think Like a Man. Hardy and Packer mutually dissolved Rainforest Films in June of 2014. They were subsequently sued by business partner Bernard Bronner for mismanagement and misappropriation of corporate assets. In March 2015, Hardy launched Rainforest Entertainment. He announced that the new production company will focus on developing scripted and non-scripted content for film, television and digital platforms. Hardy hired Mitzi Miller to serve as Head of Development for the film, television and digital media production company and her offices will be based in Los Angeles. Since his 2008 dive into TV directing with ER, Hardy has worked on a variety of hit TV shows like Bones, Criminal Minds, The Vampire Diaries, 90210, The Game and The Flash and has begun directing commercial projects for clients, including CNN,TBS, American Honda, Coca-Cola, Georgia Lottery and The National Cancer Institute.
Along with Andrew Young, Martin Luther King III, and Rainforest Films partner Will Packer, Hardy is co-founder of Bounce TV, a United States television network airing on digital terrestrial television stations. Promoted as "the first 24/7 digital multicast broadcast network created exclusively for African Americans," Bounce TV launched on September 26, 2011 and features programming geared toward blacks and African Americans in the 25–54 age range. Hardy was nominated on January 9, 2014 for the 45th NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Directing in a Dramatic Series for his work on Criminal Minds 3wg will be recognizing and profiling film directors specifically, minority film directors. After extensive research I uncovered some amazing facts about this group and I'm sure you'll enjoy learning about each of them just as I have.
First things first, this film has made over $93 Million on a $10 Million Dollar budget. Now that's what I call success. I did however, FINALLY, go to see the movie. I'd meant to earlier, but for some reason never got around to it. It was well worth the wait. Insidious "Chapter 3" was probably one of the scariest movies i've seen in over a decade and i'm not exaggerating. The story line was great, the cast was great although I didn't recognize many of them. Overall, this is a movie you wanna see and you're going to love the twist.
The beautiful but sassy Claudia Jordan posted on Facebook that after just 1 year she will not be returning to the Ricky Smiley Morning Radio Show which is syndicated in over 50 markets. This follows the dismissal of Ebony Steele just over a year ago. This makes one wonder what Ricky's deal is with women. Since both women have very strong and outgoing personalities, I'm now curious. Is he old fashion and feels that a woman should know her place or does he have a bruised ego due to some rejected advances. Claudia isn't without work though. She is a model and for now she still has her gig on the record breaking reality series Real Housewives of Atlanta.
So, I just returned from watching San Andreas and I must say that I was simply blown away to say the least.
The special effects were impeccable, the story was pulling and the sound was riveting. The only con that I could give was the timing. What I mean by timing is that a few times the action in a particular scene completely stopped until we got back to it, making it seem like it took 10 minutes to get up 1 flight of stairs. Other than that....I give this move 10 stars. I'm super interested to see how it fairs it's 1st weekend out. |
